Anniversary Staycation with Taal Vista Hotel

By October 29, 2016 22 Comments

Instead of having a huge anniversary getaway, we had a very luxurious staycation at Taal Vista Hotel for our anniversary! Cheers to 7 years! 🙂

Last year, Gerald and I went on an adventure to Cebu for our anniversary. That’s when we both decided to travel every year to celebrate our anniversary. This year, we had a huge plan to celebrate it in Palawan, but due to things that are out of our control, we had to cancel our flights and bookings. 🙁 We really tried everything we could but to no avail. 🙁

We didn’t want the disappointment to stop us from celebrating so we went for a Plan B, which is a staycation in a luxurious hotel in one of our favorite destinations — Tagaytay.

Taal Vista Hotel

We chose Taal Vista Hotel because it is one of the most popular whenever we search for hotels in Tagaytay. We got the Premier Room that has a good view of the Taal Lake!

We arrived very late, at around 6pm already, because of the terrible traffic, ugh, so we decided to just go to Sky Ranch and scoot. Oh yes, Gerald and I spontaneously bought scooters! Grabe kung ano-ano binibili ni Gerald, tapos ako sobrang supportive naman. Nako. Hahaha

We already bought tickets when the guard told us that scooters are not allowed inside. Our purpose of going to Sky Ranch was not to ride but just to scoot inside and with that, we just chose to waste the tickets (huhu) and just scoot around the parking area. Haha.

The Lobby

After a few minutes we headed back to the hotel for dinner at The Lobby.

Price is affordable, I must say, but the food takes so long to be served considering there were only less than people dining in that time. Good thing we weren’t that hungry and just waited patiently. Hehe.

We planned to have massage in their spa but it closes by 9pm and we didn’t want a room service. We decided to just get a massage elsewhere, thinking we would probably save more, but we’re wrong. Haha. The next day, we couldn’t find a spa nearby and the nearest we found was The Spa Wellness so we had to take it despite the price! My goodness, it was expensive, but again, it is worth it! However, I don’t think I’m willing to spend that much again for a massage. Hahaha.

Anyway, going back to my story about the hotel.. Gerald fell asleep first, which is very unusual, because I always sleep first. Maybe because he’s tired since he went straight from work. I decided not to wake him up but he told me I should have woke him up. Nah. But good thing we slept early because finally, we were able to catch the sunrise!

Taal Lake

Whenever we travel, we always plan to wake up early to see the sunrise. Mind you, we wake up on our alarms but we always decide to just get back to sleep. Haha. This time, we really woke up early and watched the sunrise. Ahhh so beautiful!

Also, don’t you wish to wake up every morning like this? I personally requested for a room with a balcony because I’ve always wanted to experience just sitting on the balcony, watching the sunrise and the view. 🙂

When we’re done appreciating this beautiful view, we went down for the buffet breakfast. Oh, we love buffet, and their breakfast did not disappoint us! I was too shy to take photos, so no photos here, but I did have a few snaps back then, wish you saw that. Hehe.

After breakfast, we went to the pool for a quick dip. Thumbs up to the hotel’s great service, when they offered us a shuttle ride to the pool area. It was only a short distance, so on our way back, we just decided to walk.

There was another couple when we arrived but few minutes later they left so the pool was left for just the two of us. 🙂

We only spent an hour or two because it’s almost our check-out time already. 🙁 We had to prepare real quick so we still have enough time to roam around the area and take photos.

And just like that, our staycation is done! I’ve always wanted to stay in a luxurious hotel like this, but never really tried because hey, it’s so expensive!!! Hahaha But after experiencing it in Taal Vista Hotel, I’m telling you, it’s worth it! Gerald even said he felt like a king and he wanted to stay for another day and we could have gone crazy and extend our stay but nuh-uh-uh, we got no money for that. Hahaha

I can’t believe that Gerald and I are already on our 7th year! Hoping for more years to come, as we achieve our goals for our relationship and both our families. 🙂

I started blogging 12 years ago, jumping from one domain to another, and just last year I ventured into vlogging as well. Whenever I need a break, you'll find me watching a Kdrama episode, or simply just having a good sleep.

Whoa, you’ve been together for such a long time. You deserve this staycation! Congrats to both of you! <3 The view is so breathtaking huhu. When I finally get a job in the corporate world once I graduate, I'll totally suggest to my partner that we do this. One destination every anniversary. That should be fun! 🙂

First off, I love the photos! I’ve read quite a lot of blog posts or photos captions about Taal Vista. From the looks, I bet it’s really expensive to have a staycation there. Did you buy the scooters there in Tagaytay? Or did you just bring it with you all the way there? I find it too unique to scoot around. I mean, I usually see bikers. That sunrise photo is breathtaking!! I’ve never seen such sea of clouds like that IRL.

Now I regret not using my The Wellness Spa voucher. I didn’t know it’s thaaaaat pricey. LOL! I even forgot where I put it!

Happy Anniversary to you two! <3

Yes, mahal talaga kaloka! Pero worth it 🙂
No, we bought the scooters before we went to Tagaytay 🙂 We actually have folding bikes, but Gerald got bored with it we just sold them and bought scooters. Hahaha ganyan ka-impromptu haha
Naku sayang naman yung voucher!!! Ang mahal dun sa spa pero ang ganda!

Happy 7th anniversary!!! *fireworks display* Yay! I also have the same thoughts of the balcony. I always like to have that kind of view with the one I love and just talk about random things. Hehe 🙂

I’ve seen Taal Lake Vista few times and my Mom said it’s expensive in there! (is it?) i was checking for some hotels to stay in when we go back so I might consider this one. Long live! 🙂

Happy anniversary to both of you sis! Buti kapa lol this makes me wonder kung saan na ba yung para sa akin? Omg and corny pakinggan lol. I think you both deserve this vacation. And that hotel looks really expensive. I was able to experience staying in a beautiful hotel in Subic but that was a treat from our boss. Sana maulit hahaha

7 years and counting! Congrats to both of you and more power 🙂

    • mei says:

      Haha dadating din yan 🙂

Who knows, next time you can book your own hotel stay na, dba? 🙂 Tiwala lang 🙂 It will be worth it, you should go try! 🙂

      Thank you Clare 🙂

  • Happy Anniversary to you guys! 7 years! Yaay! Wishing you guys a lifetime of happiness and love hihi <3 Your view looked incredible aaah!!! Taal's so gorgeous!! And I totally feel you, if I had a balcony with a great view like that, I'd probably wake up waay earlier than I usually do. -Dems | Electrick Cities

      Thank you Dems! 🙂
If that balcony will make me wake up earlier, then I should have a balcony! Haha I always wake up late kasi haha

  • Tienne says:

Oh everything looks so fancy! Belated happy anniversary <3

  • Richel V. says:

Didn’t realize you two are together for that long already! Happy anniversary!! <3

Everytime I visit Tagaytay, I pass by Taal Vista. And I want to do one night in it but it's making me uncomfortable to spend that much. Love the balcony shots though and the interiors of the hotel. Too bad about the scooters not being allowed on Sky Ranch. Haha.

    • mei says:

Hindi ba mukhang matagal na kami? Dahil hindi pa kami nagiging magkamukha? Hahaha

Naku, once you experience it, you’ll not regret it! At first we we’re also hesitating, considering with the amount of money, we could already have a weekend getaway somewhere. But aside from we have no choice (since we have no VL credits haha), we also want to experience a luxurious hotel stay. Just go, try it! A staycation is really good! 🙂

Plan B worked for both of you, right? As long as you guys are celebrating it together, and happy, oks na un. Ay wow! HAHA

I have tried expensive hotels but it was company expense. Ang ganda noh? Parang ayaw nang umuwi.

And congratulations on your seventh year! More years pa Mei.

    • mei says:

Oo si Gerald nga ayaw na umuwi haha sana maexperience ko din yung sagot ng company! Hahaha

Thanks Clint, hopefully more years to come talaga! 🙂
